The challenge

City departments ran street lighting, traffic signals, water and buildings separately, with little live information. Problems were found through complaints, and energy use was largely unknown.

Each department had bought its own systems, none of which shared data.

Our approach

  1. Prioritise use cases

We worked with departments to choose high-value starting points: lighting, traffic and water.

  2. Deploy sensors at scale

Connected sensors were installed across streets, junctions, pumps and buildings.

  3. Unify on one platform

Data from all departments flows into a shared, open IoT platform.

  4. Run a command centre

Live dashboards and alerts support daily operations and planning.

The solution

City teams now see energy use, traffic flow and infrastructure status in real time. Faults are often fixed before residents notice, and lighting adjusts to need.

New use cases can be added to the same platform without buying another standalone system.
