The challenge
Nine ERP instances across fifteen countries meant nine charts of accounts, nine ways of handling orders and no automatic financial consolidation. Group finance stitched results together in spreadsheets every month.
Maintaining so many systems was expensive, and no one had a reliable global view of inventory or margins.
Our approach
Design a global template
Core finance, supply chain and sales processes were standardised in one template.
Clean and migrate data
Customer, supplier and material records were de-duplicated and harmonised before migration.
Roll out in waves
Countries went live in planned waves, with a pilot region proving the template first.
Support after go-live
Hypercare teams stayed on hand in each country until operations were stable.
The solution
The manufacturer now runs on a single S/4HANA instance. Consolidation is automatic, inventory and margins are visible across all fifteen countries, and process changes are made once instead of nine times.
Retiring the old instances removed significant licence and support costs.
